How do I use it? I just purchased honey and brown sugar body scrub to exfoliate and there is no directions for use on the jar. I wanna do it right.

is it the kind with oil, too? In anycase, wash up first with your regular soap, then use the scrub. I generally just rub a bit in my hand and use on the areas that need the most exfoliating, like elbows, feet, knees, etc. I use it lightly on other areas.

Depending on the grain, you might need to be careful in areas with thinner skin, like your face or underarm. There are scrubs that have walnut shells and these can scratch sensitive areas.

That brings me to another point- test to be sure your skin doesn't get irritated. The honey might be a soothing agent so you will likely be ok. I use the ones with oil becuase I have such dry skin, I'd flake away if I didn't pair the moisturizer with the scrub!

Make spa quality body scrubs and lotions at home.

I see stuff that says "body wash" and "body scrub", like soap & glory's line, but i have no idea what the difference is.

Also, what's the purpose of each?
And what are the advantages/disadvantages of each?

body wash is just a liquid version of soap...except a lot of times with a moisturizing component. Body scrub is also a liquid version of soap, except it has little beads or granules of a substance that helps to exfoliate your skin. The little beads or granules (which might feel sort of like salt or sand scrubbing your skin) actually help to remove the layer of skin on the surface to reveal the healthier, glowing skin underneath.

Both are beneficial depending on what you're looking for. If you want that extra glow, then the scrub is probably your best bet. But most body washes have moisturizing ingredients, which is good if you need a little moisture.

I love the body shop's body scrub in mango. But at 17 dollars a jar I can't afford it anymore, because I go through them very quickly. I went to a few drugstores and I couldn't find any that smelled as nice as the ones at the body shop. Can anyone reccomend a body scrub that is cheaper that smells similar to the mango one at the body shop.

Not sure about the mango scent, but St. Ives apricot scrub is fantastic, and a total bargain.

i have an oily skin. i'm on the lookout for a natural scrub that's not too abrasive, applicable on all body parts.
when i mean applicable on all body parts ,
i'd want to know if exfoliating scrubs can be used in the bust region too.

Homemade Exfoliating Body Scrub

Easy, gentle and effective! You probably have all these ingredients in your pantry already!

2 tablespoons oatmeal
2 tablespoons cornmeal
2 tablespoons wheat germ

To use: combine a teaspoon or two with a mixture of water and/or cleanser to make a paste.
Massage gently into skin and rinse well.

1 lemon, grated
1 pomegranate, peel (you need the inner and whitish part)
1/2 teaspoon sea sand
1 very ripe avocado, pulp of

Dry the pomegranate peel for 2 days.
In a bowl, mix all the ingredients together.
Blend this mixture with the pulp of a very ripe avocado so that the whole mixture gets a good consistency.
Gently apply this concoction on your body.
Rinse abundantly with cool water.
Apply your body cream.
Enjoy!

I want to treat someone special with a body scrub. I have never gotten one so it is hard for me to even begin to guess how. I have a proper body scrub from a salon. Can someone please tell me step by step what to do?

Id go to beauty supply store and get a cloth massage glove/wash cloth (i have a terry cloth massage glove) and find a nice body scrub preferably a sugar scrub as salt can burn if they have any little knicks or cuts.Now if your doing this at home this is where it get tricky (unless u have a massage table for them to lay on) if u dont then id lay out a blanket (not a new nice one) and just have them lay down put about 1/2 cup or less of the body scrub in your hand and in circular motions go over there body from top (shoulders) to bottom.circular motion help get blood flowing and is the best way to use a body scrub.Id also probably have them shower a little bit before hand so so the dry skin is loose already and not all dry and brittle.

I have bought a Boots Natural Collection body cream and body scrub. Can I use it on my face too?

I wouldn't use either on my face. Use a facial wash; Boots do lots of reasonably priced ones.
