I'm just trying to get rid of white heads on my nose.
What's the best face scrub I can buy at walmart or walgreens or somewhere like that?
I've used Biore Pore Strips and those don't work for me.
& I've used Clean and Clear oxyginating scrub or something like that which didn't do much either.
try st. ive's apricot scrub. good luck

Just recently bought a face scrub.. how should it be used?
when you apply it to your face should you use the palm or use fingertips? whats better hot or cold water , any tips to?
Help would be appreciated
When applying any face wash or scrub always use your fingertips. Rub in a circular motion. lightly.
here's more:
Cleanse your face using a mild cleanser to remove the impurities and the residue of makeup...
Wet your face with lukewarm water and rub a small amount of exfoliating product into your skin. A nickel-sized portion should do it, but use as much or as little as you see fit. Gently massage the scrub into your skin for 1-2 minutes with your fingers to work the exfoliating particles into pores. If possible, allow the scrub to sit on your face for a minute or two more—this will allow the glycolic acid or other exfoliating ingredients to work better. After a few minutes, wash the scrub away with lukewarm water and pat
Apply a moisturizer or a hydrating face cream every time after washing your face to moisturize your face. Again make sure the moisturizer is appropriate for your skin type.
:: TIPS::
*Washing your face twice a day is a must in order to keep your skin clear.
*Never use bar soaps to wash your face as they tend to dry out the skin.
*Never wash your face with hot or too cold water – you may irritate your skin.
*Never over-cleanse your skin.
*Avoid cleansing products containing alcohol or any harsh chemicals.
*Always remove your makeup before you wash your face.
**Remember: hot water can strip your skin of its natural oils, leaving it dry and irritated.
*Always apply the cleansing products to a wet face.
*Always make sure you have removed all traces of the cleanser, otherwise it can irritate your skin.
*Never rub your skin.
*Always make sure the cleansing product is appropriate for your skin type.
*Wash your face at least twice a day.
*Always apply moisturizer after washing your face.
*Don’t forget to exfoliate your skin once or twice a week with a mild exfoliator to remove the dead skin cells.
*It’s best to wash your face with lukewarm water rather than with hot or cold water.
*Avoid using strong or harsh cleansers and toners.
*Cream based cleansers are appropriate for the winter months as they moisturize the skin.
If your skin is sensitive choose a fragrance-free cleanser.
If your skin is oily look for a water-based cleanser in gel or foam formula.
If your skin is dry look for a cream cleanser that moisturizes your skin.

I'm really breaking out, I guess my face wash isn't working, do you have any suggestions?
The best one I heard of is Avon's Clear Skin - both the scrub and the cream are very good. Maybe call up a rep. in your area and order some as soon as you can.
In the meantime try AVEENO brand unscented face cleaner. that is good too.
Drink lots of water - this will help detox your system from impurities and help to clear your skin.
good Luck!

I have a skin type that gets breakouts every now and then with 10 or less pimples (small ones). I have heard that if you use a good scrub and moisturizor your skin will do much better. Any products will do!
(preferably less that $15)

is st ives apricot scrub any good?
I find scrubs actually give me acne because they irritate my skin, exfoliating the top layer of skin, leaving pores exposed to bacteria.
I recommend a gentle medicated gel wash like those made by neutrogena or clean and clear.
If you want to exfoliate, use a cucumber peel mask.

OR
Neutrogena deep clean gentle scrub?
By the way, I've heard that st.ives is too harsh for your skin so I'm not sure whether it'll be good. Thanks for any suggestions =)
Beware of using any products for acne unless they have been prescribed or recommended by your doctor. People make all kinds of suggestions about the best thing to do to cure acne. Some cures I’ve heard include putting oatmeal, honey, lemon juice, tea tree oil, cucumber, vinegar, milk of magnesia or toothpaste on your face. Practically every cosmetics company and company that makes personal care products makes something that is a “sure cure” for acne. If we think about this, and use some common sense, we have to come to the conclusion that there is no quick or easy cure for acne, because if there was it would be well known and doctors would be telling everyone about it.
Numerous companies make a lot of money persuading people to buy products that at worst will make the acne worse, and at best may help some people a little. Often fewer products are better. People often make their acne much worse by using too many products. There really is no quick fix for acne. Don’t spend a lot of money on products just because their ads say that they will cure acne. Your doctor is the best person to ask for help, and he or she may recommend some prescription medication or non-prescription treatment that may be suitable for you..
There are some very simple and basic things you can do that cost nothing. Keep your face or any other area affected by acne very clean. Any mild antibacterial soap will help with that. Rinse the area well to remove all soap residue. Drink plenty of water – it really does help to clear up acne. Eat a nutritious diet and get enough sleep. A healthy life style will make a difference. Try to reduce the stress in your life – stress contributes to acne, so also probably the more you worry about the acne and focus on it, the worse it will be.
Probably the most useful and effective things you can do are to apply hot compresses to pustules and cysts and never to pick or squeeze pimples. Playing with or popping pimples, no matter how careful and clean you are, nearly always makes bumps stay redder and bumpier longer.
