can a facial steamer be used in the morning to wake up your face?
Facial steamers are use for opening your pores...You do a facial afterwards and finish it up with cold compress and good moisturizer for a healthy glow. If you leave your pores open, more dirt will be inside your pores causing breakouts...I heard that clean and clear make sunburst for morning wash and try going to body shop..they have a line with Vitamin C that will help your face glow and replenish.

from my experience, the best facial steamer is a pot of really hot water and a towel. just drape the towel over your head to trap the steam.

i have had a revlon n conair one. they iuseless. they barely produce any steam. on top of that i have to dive my whole face into the cup which is crazy!
Go to a professional beauty supply. I agree, those drug store brands do not do the trick very well. I worked in a pro supply place and almost bought one, but could not afford it at the time. Now I wish I had ! Don't pay more than you can afford, but by no means should you purchase a cheap one. Give your other ones to younger girls, they will start good facial habits. If not, take them to a recycle place. They shouldnt go into the trash. Even donate to goodwill, salvation army or Amer. Cancer Society's Discover Shops.
Oster makes a decent steamer, and not terribly expensive. Also dont forget to MOISTURIZE after, even if oily skin, get an oil free one. I am almost 45 and wish i had listened...start of wrinkles....yuk! A good steam will open pores and ready skin for moisture absorbtion. Good advice from a pro!!!

Is it best to cleanse skin first before using a facial steamer or sauna ?
Yes, because one of the purposes is to get the gunk out of your pores. If you have makeup on still, it kinda defeats the purpose. If you don't have any on, you do not need to wash your face first. I use mine for 10 minutes before I shower (your hair will get yucky when you use it) and then I use a mask called Burt's Bees pore refining mask with french clay to tighten all my pores all back up. It takes only 5 minutes to dry and rinses off easily. I have used other clay masks and ended up have to work to get them off. It only adds 15 minutes to you routine in the am and you hit the door feeling great and looking great! I work 2 jobs so I have to have easy routines. This is easy with long-lasting results!! Lucille Ball used one her whole life and made sure her daughter used one. She was a comedian, but she had the greatest, perfect skin on the screen!!!

boil water and put it in a large bowl hold your head over it, not touching it obviously, just so you get the steam in your face. to make it more effective hold a towel over your head to shut the steam in.
