what are the ups and downs of going for a facial treatment(facial)and at what age should one go for it?

I've been getting facials since I was 20....I'm 40 now. I look pretty young for a 40yrs...lol.

Facials are great tools for you to maintain and promote good skin care. If you go every 3 months...you'll see a big difference in your skin. Add good moisturizer and exfoliates...sun screens...you'll not only improve the health of your skin but will reap the benefit of looking younger.

But the best reason for having facials...THEY FEEL SO DAMN GOOD.

Downside: they can be expensive.

I'd like to have a healthy glowing face, without using all those chemicals. Plz suggest some good homemade facial treatments. (masks, lotions, etc.)

to get glowing skin after waking up, the night before going to sleep, cover your head with a towel above sink with the hot water running. steam your face for about 5-10mins. trust me. your skin glows the next morning.

oily skin mask: plain yougurt all over the face and leave it for 10mins. it absorbs oil.

dry skin mask: mash bananas with oatmeal and almond essential oil. leave it for 10mins. your skin will be hydrated and supple.

foot scrub: mash strawberries with coarse salt/sugar with olive oil

I would like to stop my facial treatment package as the skin has improved but am worried that the skin deteriorates.

you should continue it regularly, at least once in a month. I think the skin needs this treatment to recover the dead cells beside that this treatment is good for general health and mind. I do it every month and I feel so relaxed afterwards.

I know a young girl who is depressed and forced to shave facial hair after five laser treatments that burned her face and did not reduce hair. Any suggestions for a treatment course?

uh. just wax? you'll get used to doing it a lot eventually... I suggest parissa hardening wax.

when i was 14, i have 3 treatments already (1 diamond peel).. then in 15, i got at least 4 (acne treatment) i think... what would be the effects on my skin?????

It's like if you were to take medicine when your not sick, your body will become immune to the medicine when you are sick. That's like your skin, if you keep getting these treatments while your so young your face will eventually become immune to treatments. When your that young the tone, texture, and clarity of your skin should still be very good. I would suggest not getting any other treatments until you actually need it. You can still get facials, but I wouldn't suggest anything to strong like peels or specialty facials. Make sure that you have a good skin care regimen at home. Cleanse, Exfoliate(1-2week), moisturize and you should be good. Good Luck!
